Funding

There are many funding options to help you keep your home warmer for longer.

We have given a brief description of these below and attached any supporting websites.

ECO4 Scheme

ECO4 is the newest iteration of Government funding available to help those who are on a household income of £31,000 (gross) or under, who are referred by their doctor/energy provider, or a qualifying benefit to get central heating and insulation.

This is grant funding meaning you won't have to pay it back if you're eligible.

ECO4 covers a range of different central heating upgrades and insulation.

The eligibility criteria will be varied and includes:

  • Pension Credit

  • Universal Credit

  • Income based Jobseekers allowance

  • Income related Employment & Support Allowance

  • Income Support

  • Housing Benefit

  • Tax Credits (Child or Working Tax Credit)

  • Child Benefit

Flexible Eligibility has been created to enable local authorities to make declarations determining that certain households, who are not on Affordable Warmth qualifying benefits are still deserving of Affordable Warmth. This is on the basis that they are either in Fuel Poverty or are considered low income and vulnerable to the effects of living in a cold home.

 

The eligibility criteria will be varied and includes;

  • Customers must self-declare if their disposable weekly income is £200 or lower

  • Long term health conditions

  • Other vulnerability indicators.

  • Low Income Threshold or other indicators

  • Have maximum income and no savings and have a health & vulnerability condition

  • Health & vulnerability conditions

  • Any long-term illness

  • Cardiovascular conditions

  • Respiratory conditions

  • Mental health conditions Disabilities

  • People over 65

  • Young children – New-born to school age Pregnant women

  • People on low income

  • Pension Credit guarantee or savings element Children under 16

LA Flex

Home Energy Scotland helps people in Scotland create warmer homes, reduce their energy bills, and lower their carbon footprint. They are funded by the Scottish Government and managed by Energy Saving Trust.

Home Energy Scotland can help with free, impartial advice on saving energy, keeping warm at home, renewable energy, cutting water waste and more.
